Mechanicsburg’s Black too much for Greeneview

Mechanicsburg High School junior Austin Black had three touchdowns and two interceptions as Mechanicsburg defeated host Greeneview 19-6 in the Ohio Heritage Conference opener on Friday.

Black ran for 101 yards and two touchdowns and went 11-for-15 passing with 131 yards and a 36-yard scoring pass to Brandon Purk for the Indians (2-2). Chance Frye threw an 8-yard TD pass to Jason Thompson in the fourth for the Rams (1-3).

Shawnee 56, Northwestern 0: The Braves shut out the Warriors for the second straight year, holding Northwestern (0-4) to 86 total yards of offense.

Alex McCrory ran for three touchdowns and Brad Jarzab ran for 101 yards and threw for 86 yards and a TD for Shawnee (4-0).

Northeastern 63, Cedarville 36: Brentyn Stoops ran for a season-high 174 yards and a career-high 5 touchdowns for the Jets (2-2). Three of Stoops’ scoring runs came after fumble recoveries by the defense. Brad Orahood also had a 44-yard interception return.

Hudson Grant threw for 149 yards and two touchdowns for the Indians (0-4).

Graham 38, Stebbins 30: Ben Meyers ran for 117 yards, Wiatt Hanlin rushed for 112 yards for the Falcons (1-3). Hanlin and Jake Theodor had two TD runs each.
