SPRINGFIELD — Mechanicsburg High School senior Tori Purk had a game-high 27 points and 15 rebounds as the Indians beat host Catholic Central 59-46 in Ohio Heritage Conference girls basketball action Thursday.
It was the third double-double of the season for Purk as Mechanicsburg improved to 3-0 and 2-0 in the OHC.
Kristen Dunlap tossed in 10 points for the Indians.
Paige Lewis scored 15 points and Taylor Johnson added 13 for the Irish (2-2, 0-2 OHC).
Cedarville 36, Northeastern 32: After the host Jets took their first lead of the game at 31-29 late in the fourth quarter, the Indians finished the game on a 7-1 run to earn their first conference victory of the season.
Emily Aviles scored 12 points and Emily Sheridan added 11 for Cedarville (2-2, 1-1 OHC), who led 23-6 at halftime.
Katelynn McDaniel had 10 points for Northeastern (0-3, 0-2 OHC).
Triad 62, Greeneview 53: The Cardinals went on a 20-11 run in the second quarter to pick up an important OHC victory.
Kelsey Funderburgh had 29 points and five 3-pointers, while Faith Orecchio added 14 for Triad (4-0, 2-0 OHC).
Ashton Lovely scored a game-high 30 points and Sophie Sonneman added 10 for the Rams (2-1, 1-1 OHC).
Miami Valley 40, Emmanuel Christian 19: Megan Ball scored seven points as the Lions (1-4, 0-2 Metro Buckeye Conference) struggled in the second half, scoring five points in the loss.
