SPRINGFIELD — Outdoor track season is on the way, but several area high school athletes are still competing indoors.

The Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches Ohio State Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held Saturday, March 20, at the University of Akron’s Stile Field House.

The Division II and III meet begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by the D-I meet at 3:30 p.m.

Several athletes in Division II/III are competing, including:

• West Liberty-Salem’s Hannah Ropp (pole vault), Meghan Vogel (3,200-meter run) and Austin Wilson (high jump).

• Greeneview’s Shaytell Furman (60 meters, long jump).

• Northeastern’s Megan Simpson (200 meters).

• Graham’s Maggie Dade (800 run).

No area athletes qualified in Division I.

Qualifying standards are based on the top 25 times during the regular indoor season. Individuals cannot compete in the meet if their school district does not approve indoor track, or coaches are not members of the OATCCC.

The regular season for outdoor track begins March 28.
