Greenon rallied back from a 27-22 halftime deficit to hand Miami East its first defeat of the season, 59-51, in nonconference girls basketball action Monday night.

The Knights hit 9 of their 10 foul shots in the fourth quarter when they outscored their guests 19-10 to improve to 4-0 on the young season. Greenon shot 21-of-28 from the line for the game to 9-of-10 for Miami East.

“That was the difference for us,” said Greenon coach Gary Falkenbach. “They got in a situation where they had to foul us and put us on the line, and we made some key shots from there.”

Heather Slaughter led a balanced Greenon offense with 13 points, while Whitney Robinson added 12 and Lianne Maquelier chipped in with 10.

Emmanuel Christian 33, Yellow Springs 26: The Lions jumped out to a 20-12 halftime lead and made it stand to improve to 2-3. Hannah Decker had 9 points for Emmanuel and Breanna Coffman added 8. Maryah Martin had 12 points for the Bulldogs.
