YELLOW SPRINGS — Greenon High School jumped out to a 12-point halftime lead and never looked back, earning a 47-22 victory over Yellow Springs in girls basketball action Wednesday.
Heather Slaughter had a game-high 15 points, while Teddi Tankersley added 10 for Greenon (10-2), which won its fifth in a row.
It was the third time the Knights held a team under 25 points this season.
Yellow Springs is 5-7.
Triad 76, Bellefontaine 42: Senior Kelsey Funderburgh scored 32 points as the Cardinals (13-0) used a huge third quarter to stay perfect on the season. It was the sixth time this season and fourth game in a row Funderburgh has surpassed 30 points.
Anna McKenzie had 13 points and Faith Orecchio added 10 for the Cardinals, who led 29-28 at the half. They outscored the Chieftains (3-10) 23-7 in the third quarter to run away with the victory.
Northmont 56, Springfield 36: Ashley Tunstall had 17 points and 13 rebounds and Le’Aunna Rhodes added six assists for the Wildcats (5-8).
Wrestling
Anthony Kitchen (132), Caleb Rogan (160), Ethan Edwards (182) and Benjamin Cash (285) all went 2-0 as host Urbana split a dual meet with Northeastern and Kenton Ridge.
The Hillclimbers beat the Jets 37-34, while falling to the Cougars, 47-24.
