JAMESTOWN — Sophomore Ashton Lovely scored 32 points for the Greeneview High School girls basketball team in a 61-41 victory over Oakwood on Monday.
Her career high of 34 came against Oakwood last season.
Lovely also had six rebounds, six assists and five steals. She made five 3-pointers and was 9-of-10 from the free-throw line.
“She was our leader tonight,” Greeneview coach Gregg Haines said. “She was our spark plug. She kept us in the ballgame. She’s a highlight reel.”
The Rams improved to 2-0. They have a busy week ahead, visiting Triad on Thursday and Southeastern on Saturday.
Triad 86, Riverside 27: Kelsey Funderburgh scored 29 of her 31 points in the first three quarters. She had 15 points in the second quarter. The Cardinals are 3-0.
Emmanuel Christian 63, East Dayton Christian 20: The Lions (1-3) won the first quarter 16-1 and the third quarter 18-1. Megan Ball led the way with 17 points.
