JAMESTOWN — Greeneview High School sophomore Ashton Lovely scored 30 points as the Rams beat Northwestern 60-22 in nonconference girls basketball action Wednesday night.

Lovely also had 12 rebounds and seven assists for the Rams (4-1), who outscored the Warriors 21-0 in the third quarter.

It was the second time this season Lovely went for 30 points. She scored 32 against Oakwood earlier this season. Natasha Siebenaler scored 11 points for the Rams.

Northwestern is 1-6.

Springfield 51, Trotwood 44: Ashley Tunstall and Shonte Williams each scored 13 points as the Wildcats won back-to-back games for the first time since December of 2009.

The score was tied at 25 at the half, but the Wildcats (2-2) outscored the Rams 26-19 in the second half.

Tecumseh 82, Sidney 27: Bianca Quisenberry had a triple-double, tallying 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

The Arrows outscored the Yellow Jackets 67-17 in the final three quarters to improve to 4-1. Chelsey Davis had 23 points and Megan Christmann added 10 for Tecumseh.

Urbana 81, Piqua 38: Trischa Lacey had 21 points and eight rebounds, while Kaley Moss added 15 points and five assists as the Hillclimbers opened up a 44-15 halftime lead and cruised to this nonconference victory.

Urbana (4-1) also got 11 points from Christy Finney and 10 points from Braxton Rogan.

Shawnee 48, Northeastern 42: The Braves built a 37-25 lead after the third quarter and held off a late Jets charge to pick up their first win of the season.

Allie Hatcher had 12 points and Carly Gregory added 10 points for Shawnee (1-2). Katelynn McDaniel scored 12 points and Haley Sparks chipped in 10 points for host Northeastern (0-5).

Triad 63, Benjamin Logan 54: The unbeaten Cardinals (6-0) hit a season-high 11 3-pointers, including five in the first quarter, to help them jump out to a 20-12 lead.

They had four players score in double-figures — Kelsey Funderburgh had 22 points, while Anna McKenzie and Faith Orecchio each had 15 and Dayna Ober added 11.

Correction: The Stebbins at Kenton Ridge girls basketball game will be played at 7:30 p.m. Saturday night, not 2:30 as printed in Wednesday’s News-Sun.
