NORTH LEWISBURG — Mechanicsburg High School senior Tori Purk scored her 1,000th career point, but the Indians lost 55-48 at unbeaten Triad on Thursday.
Purk scored 14 points and now has 1,002 in her career. She played her first three seasons at Graham.
Kelsey Funderburgh led Triad with 28 points. She had 11 points in the third quarter as Triad rallied from a 26-18 halftime deficit.
The Cardinals (9-0, 6-0 Ohio Heritage Conference) outscored Mechanicsburg (5-2, 4-2 OHC) 22-14 in the third and 15-8 in the fourth.
West Liberty-Salem 51, Catholic Central 35: Becka Peterson notched her seventh double-double of the season (13 points, 11 rebounds) as the host Tigers won their third straight.
Paige Lewis scored 14 points for the Irish (5-5, 2-4 Ohio Heritage Conference). Maria Daulton had 12 points and Alandra Cox added 10 points for West Liberty (6-3, 3-3 OHC).
Southeastern 50, Cedarville 34: The Trojans held the Indians to 13 points in the first half.
Jenna Erwin scored 17 points, Mona Ratliff had her first double-double (12 points, 13 points) and Taylor Perry chipped in 11 for Southeastern (4-5, 3-3 OHC). Emily Aviles led Cedarville (3-5, 1-4 OHC) with 11 points.
Northeastern 45, Emmanuel Christian 34: The host Jets went on a 20-11 run in the third quarter to post their first win of the year.
Hannah Decker scored 13 points for the Lions (2-6). Haley McCohn tossed in 16 points for Northeastern (1-7).
Boys Hoops
Xenia 85, Graham 53: The host Buccaneers (4-1) built a 37-17 halftime lead. Austin Morgan scored 14 points and Floyd Lowry added 12 for the Falcons (3-3).
Kenton Ridge 56, Greenon 50: Adam Robertson hit a 3-pointer with 2 minutes left to give the Cougars a 51-50 lead. A 3-point play by Aaron Davis with 48 seconds left stretched Kenton Ridge’s lead to 54-50.
The Cougars (3-4) trailed 44-37 after three quarters, but outscored Greenon 19-6 in the fourth.
Davis had 11 points for Kenton Ridge, and Anthony Colletti led Greenon (3-3) with 16.
Urbana 51, Bellefontaine 50: Joe Wright hit two free throws with 5 seconds left to give Urbana a four-point lead, and Bellefontaine hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lose by one.
Karl Singer and Zach Stillings each scored 16 points for the Hillclimbers (5-1), who won their third straight game.
