Game of the week
Southeastern at West Liberty-Salem, tonight, 7:30: The Ohio Heritage Conference kicks off with a bang when the Division IV 10th-ranked Trojans travel to West Liberty to face the D-V 23rd-ranked Tigers in a battle of unbeatens.
West Liberty-Salem (3-0) returns a strong squad from last year’s team that went 8-2, but missed the D-V, Region 20 playoffs. The Tigers have dominated the competition so far, outscoring opponents 139-19 — making them tops in the area in both scoring and defense.
Southeastern (3-0) is on a roll this season, having already surpassed its win total from 2010, when it finished 2-8. The Trojans have outscored opponents 88-28 and have been putting up big numbers offensively.
The Trojans haven’t beaten WLS since 2003. Last season the Tigers won 13-7.
