Second baseman Cody Puckett was returned to the Dragons in time for the game against the Lugnuts on Saturday night, June 27, and scored ahead of Byron Wiley’s fifth homer in the fourth inning on the way to a 5-2 Dragons victory.
In the next inning, Michael Konstanty also hit a two-run homer for the Dragons, who are 2-1 in the second half of the Midwest League season.
Puckett, who was hitting .271 with a team-leading 11 homers and 39 RBIs for the Dragons, was promoted to Sarasota last week, but had only one hit in 18 at-bats (.056) over five games.
Yen-Wen Kuo was returned to Billings, Mont., to make room for Puckett.
The Dragons are a player under the roster limit of 25 due to pitcher Josh Ravin going on the disabled list with a right elbow strain.
Ravin is expected to miss only one start.
