One of my loyal readers (I have about 10) flagged me for picking the Bengals to win, like, zero games this season. I am here to admit the error of my ways, Nigel, but I do have one question: Will Cincinnati play the Steelers or Ravens this season? I am impressed, but not convinced.

Gov. John Kasich was tooling around Ohio last week making his voice heard. When asked if Issue 2 could pick up steam and pull an upset this Tuesday, Kasich fell into the sports trap that has devoured many politicians who don’t know the difference between football and the Art Ball.

“We never thought Bernie Kosar would bring the Browns back and win that big championship game,” Kasich blurted out.

Um, I’m pretty sure Kosar, a fine quarterback, was 0-3 in AFC championship outings. Maybe he meant to say Otto Graham.

Kim Kardashian, apparently jealous that one of her diva sisters married a good NBA player, filed for divorce from Kris Humphries, who did average 10 points per game last season with New Jersey — one for every week of his made-for-TV marriage.

I’m guessing the prospect of a canceled NBA season was too much for Kim, who was looking forward to court-side seats and Heinekens with Eva Longoria.

I’m going out on a limb: Butler will not play in a third straight NCAA title game. The Bulldogs lost an exhibition last week to Northern State, 53-50 on a ‘3’ at the buzzer. Northern State is located in my home state of South Dakota, where we play some mean basketball. Well, not really. To make the upset more embarrassing, Northern won one night after losing by 32 at Purdue.

The Big Ten Network is a great idea, but the picture quality on my television Saturday matched Ohio State’s first half against Indiana. I think the problem was my TV, so it might be time to go shopping. At least that’s my story.

My former boss introduced me to a great Mexican eatery. Tacqueria Mixteca on East Third Street is the real deal. It’s not fancy, but the food and service are superb. I highly recommend the grilled shrimp lunch plate.
