Nobody seems overly concerned, but keep an eye on the left side of the Cincinnati Bengals offensive line Sunday against the Packers. Timing could be off with guard Evan Mathis getting his first start in three seasons, in for the injured Nate Livings (knee).
“I expect him to do well,” head coach Marvin Lewis said. “He’s a guy who had a good start to his career and it kind of fell off, but we’re glad to have him.”
In 2006, Mathis did start 15 games for Carolina at right guard. Versatility is what’s keeping him in the league.
