Wittenberg hosts Community Day at men’s basketball game Thursday

Wittenberg University and men’s basketball coach Matt Croci will host Community Day on Thursday at a 3 p.m. game vs. Heidelberg at Pam Evans Smith Arena. All students — elementary, middle school, high school and college — get in the doors for free.

The Tigers are 5-3 and 2-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. After losing 58-54 to DePauw and 72-68 in overtime to Denison in their first two home games of the season last week, the Tigers beat Kenyon 76-53 on Monday at home. Shawnee grad Jaelin Williams led all scorers with 17 points.

Next week, Wittenberg hosts the Kiwanis/Wittenberg Holiday Classic, opening with a 7 p.m. game Dec. 29 against Geneva.

The Wittenberg women’s basketball team (4-7) plays Mount St. Joseph at 2 p.m. Dec. 29 in the first round of the Holiday Classic.
