Sept. 14, 2014 – Cincinnati Bengals 24, Atlanta Falcons 10 at Paul Brown Stadium

Giovani Bernard rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown, and Jeremy Hill ran for 74 yards and a score as the Bengals raced out to a 24-3 lead. Andy Dalton threw a 76-yard touchdown pass to Mohamed Sanu, who threw a 50-yard pass of his own to Brandon Tate as Cincinnati rolled up 472 yards of offense.

Sept. 14, 2008 — Tennessee Titans 24, Cincinnati Bengals 7 at Paul Brown Stadium

The remnants of Hurricane Ike knocked out electricity to most of the tri-state, saving many fans the frustration of watching a powerless Bengals offense. Neither team was able to throw the ball in the swirling, high winds, with the Titans gaining 118 yards through the air while the Bengals managed 127. The difference was Tennessee ran for 177, compared to only 88 for the home team.

Sept. 14, 2003 – Oakland Raiders 23, Cincinnati Bengals 20 at Network Associates Coliseum

After the Bengals tied the game on an 8-yard touchdown pass from Jon Kita to Peter Warrick with 1:18 remaining, a Raiders offense that only had 182 total yards at the point drove down the field to set up Sebastian Janikowski’s game-winning 39-yard field goal with nine seconds left. The Bengals outgained Oakland 416 to 237, ran 82 plays to the Raiders’ 48 and held a 39:24 to 20:36 edge in time of possession and still lost.

Sept. 14, 1986 – Cincinnati Bengals 36, Buffalo Bills 33 (OT) at Riverfront Stadium

After building a 21-9 halftime lead, the Bengals trailed by 10 with less than five minutes to play. But quarterback Boomer Esiason led back-to-back scoring drives to force overtime. Linebacker Carl Zander intercepted future Hall of Famer Jim Kelly on the first play of overtime, and two plays later Jim Breech kicked a game-winning 20-yard field goal.

Sept. 14, 1980 – Miami Dolphins 17, Cincinnati Bengals 16 at the Orange Bowl

The Bengals took a 14-0 lead into the fourth quarter before allowing a safety, a fumble recovery for a touchdown and an onside kick recovery that set up Uwe von Schamman’s game-winning 39-yard field goal.

Sept. 14, 1969— Cincinnati Bengals 27, Miami Dolphins 21 at Nippert Stadium

The Bengals opened their second season in successful fashion as Greg Cook threw a pair of touchdown passes to Eric Crabtree and the defense intercepted future Hall of Famer Bob Griese twice and sacked him five times.
