HS Roundup 2/9: Alter upsets Carroll, Fenwick wins GCLC North

Alter upset Carroll 57-39 and Fenwick defeated Chaminade Julienne 58-47 to lead to Fenwick clinching the Greater Catholic League Co-Ed North title outright in Friday night boys hoops action.

Stephen Harker scored 13 points and Derek Willits and Connor Bazelak added 12 apiece to lead Alter in the upset win. Eli Ramsey scored 11 for Carroll.

Fenwick improved to 7-2 in conference play with the win. Carroll and CJ both fell to 4-4.

Beavercreek 69, Stebbins 54: Jon and Joe Alessandro combined for 28 points to lead ‘Creek. Jonathan Mpanzu put up 15 and Chris Davis 11 for Stebbins.

Trotwood 121, Xenia 61: Trotwood, on a 10-game win streak, improved to 12-0 in conference play.

Springboro 69, Northmont 57: Kaleb Tabor tallied 20 points, Garett Powell 14 and William Yates 10 for Springboro. Dawson Walker netted 20 for Northmont.

Centerville 54, Fairmont 51: Fairmont’s rally fell short after trailing by 17 at the half.

Sidney 62, Piqua 53: Andre Gordon scored 20 points, Ratez Roberts 12 and Josiah Hudgins 11 for Sidney. Qurri Tucker paced Piqua with 20.

Fairborn 50, West Carrollton 38: Jarod Bodekor finished with 15 points and Shaunn Monroe 12 for Fairborn.

Lakota East 47, Lakota West 37: Jarett Cox led East with 20 points, including shooting 8-of-9 from the foul line.

Oak Hills 58, Hamilton 51: Jaylen Robinson scored 20 points off the bench but Hamilton fell prey to an Oak Hills rally.

Princeton 67, Middletown 38: E.J. Williams paced Middletown with 16 points.

Badin 52, McNicholas 44: Sam Mathews and Spencer Giesting each had eight points to lead Badin in a rally victory.

Franklin 87, Eaton 63: Jared Kinser poured in 24 points and Payton Knott and Will Emric added on 12 apiece for Franklin. James Howard had 20 for Eaton.

Oakwood 38, Monroe 31: Alex and Andy Neff combined for 22 points to pace Oakwood.

Northridge 54, Milton Union 33: Charles Drewery netted 21 points and Twon Hines tacked on 13 for Northridge.

Ponitz 70, Meadowdale 60: Eric Sealey scored 16 points, Jaren Smith 15 and Damonte Bailey 14 to pace Ponitz. Jabali Leonard led Meadowdale with 14.

Dunbar 66, Stivers 49: Dunbar had five players reach double-digit scoring. Doug Spear put up 13 points in a losing effort for Stivers.

Edgewood 64, Little Miami 46: Garrett Gabbard led Edgewood with 14 points. Trent Allen added 13 and Austin Scott 11.

Northwest 63, Talawanda 43: Ty Hornsby totaled 17 points and Evan James 16 for Talawanda in a losing effort.

Troy Christian 44, Legacy Christian 36: Ben Schenk scored 13 points to help Troy Christian secure at least a share of the Metro Buckeye Conference title.

Miami Valley 72, Middletown Christian 51: Marc Williams poured in 28 points for Miami Valley. Jared Hamlin led Middletown Christian with 22.

Arcanum 66, Twin Valley South 54: Carter Gray totaled 18 points and Evan Atchley 17 for Arcanum. Willy Bowman tallied 18 for TVS.

Franklin Monroe 62, National Trail 61: Ethan Conley finished with 18 points and Zach Cable 17 to carry Franklin Monroe. Cameron Harrison had 23 for Trail.

Tri-County North 67, Bradford 60: Dillon McCullough poured in 41 points for TCN. Andy Branson had 35 in a losing effort for Bradford.

Mississinawa Valley 48, Miami East 45, OT: Ethan Bowman and D.J. Howell had 14 points apiece for Mississinawa. Dylan Hahn led East with 12.

Covington 63, Newton 56: Braden Miller carried Covington with 18 points, including eight in the final quarter. Chet Jamison had 23 and Treg Jackson 19 for Newton.

West Liberty-Salem 54, West Jefferson 53: James Loffing scored 16 points and Max Eggleston 12 as WLS put up a 13-point swing in the final quarter for the rally win.

Catholic Central 51, Greenon 36: Dominic Dewitt tallied 13 and Sabien Doolittle 11 for Central, which clinched a share of the Ohio Heritage Conference title. Cade Rice scored 12 to lead Greenon.

Fairbanks 66, Mechanicsburg 51: Mack Delong tallied 16 points and Kam Young 14 in a losing effort for ‘Burg.

Greeneview 53, Madison Plains 43: Mason Schneider tallied 17 points to lead Greeneview.

Seven Hills 49, New Miami 46: Trey Robinette netted 22 points and Deanza Duncan added 10 in a losing effort for New Miami.

Cin. Christian 62, St. Bernard 60: Wayne Lavender and Riley Reutener chipped in 16 points apiece for Cin. Christian.

Fort Loramie 44, Jackson Center 28: Dillon Braun scored 12 points and Tyler Siegel 11 to lead Loramie. Chris Elcher had 14 for JC.

Anna 66, Botkins : Mason Platfoot put up 16 points for Anna. Spencer Heuker had 15 for Botkins.

St. Henry 46, Versailles 44: Tyler Schlarman scored 16 points and Devin Huelskamp 10 for St. Henry. A.J. and Justin Ahrens combined for 31 for Versailles.

New Bremen 55, Parkway 46: Bryce Buckle, Nolan Bornhorst and Luke Vonderhaar netted 14 apiece for New Bremen.

Minster 58, New Knoxville 36: Isaac Schmiesing scored 15 points and Cody Frericks added 14 for Minster. Jonah Lageman and Nathan Tinnerman had 10 apiece for New Knoxville.

Fort Recovery 54, Coldwater 51: Derek Albers and Marcus Bruns carried Coldwater with 12 apiece.
