HS Results 10/14: CJ keeps playoff hopes alive

A late touchdown from Ryan Peltier helped Chaminade Julienne hold on for a 24-21 win over McNicholas in a Saturday high school football game.

KeShaun Owens returned an interception 30 yards for a score and Jonathan Bell had a 14-yard TD run as CJ jumped out to a 17-0 lead.

McNicholas would cut the deficit to three with a pair scoring runs from Ryan Belmont, but Peltier’s eight-yard TD scamper with 2:38 to play secured the win.

Bell finished with 24 carries for 119 yards and a touchdown to carry CJ, which improved to 6-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play.

CJ will host Badin on Friday before a huge matchup with Alter on Oct. 27 to close the regular season.
