H.S. Results for 2/15: Versailles girls take sectional bowling title

Versailles, led by Morgan Heitkamp with a 531 series and Brigette Holsapple with a 506, won a girls bowling Division II sectional title on Wednesday.

Jessica Pitt of Kenton Ridge, which finished second, had the high series of 545. Miranda Keene was the runner-up with a 538 for Mechanicsburg, which finished third.

Northwestern, Graham, Alter, Mississinawa Valley, Greenon, Southeastern and Russia teams also advanced to districts.

Tayler Brant of Ben Logan, Erica McCall of West Liberty-Salem, Mickayla Brown of Indian Lake, Brittney Blaschek and Camryn Joseph of Carroll, Kayla Evans and Sarah Baldwin of Urbana, Madison Dolby of Triad, Cathryn Caldwell of Catholic Central and Jade Beckner of Spg. Shawnee all qualified individually.

Girls Basketball

Alter 56, Clinton-Massie 11: Alter opened its tournament run with a rout of Clinton-Massie. Olivia Gillis led the way with 15 points and Libby Bazelak and Braxtin Miller added 12 apiece.

Bellbrook 66, Blanchester 14: Bekah Vine scored 11 points and Cassidy Hofacker 10 to help Bellbrook win its sectional tournament opener.
