H.S. Results for 5/6: Madison takes two from TVS

Madison swept Twin Valley South in a baseball doubleheader on Saturday.

Tristan Sipple tossed five shutout innings and Ethan Limon notched the save in Madison’s 4-2 win in the first game. Wade Agnew went 2-for-2 and Limon was 1-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI.

Game two was a 3-2 victory for Madison. Dustin Skinner went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI out of the leadoff spot and also picked up the save on the mound.

The wins bumped Madison’s record to 16-7.

Baseball

Springboro 13, Waynesville 0: ‘Boro exploded for nine runs in the third inning on the way to a five-inning victory. Cameron Rountree tripled and drove in three to lead the way and Ethan Brickner was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a RBI.

West Liberty-Salem 8, Fort Loramie 3: Thomas Allen went 3-for-4 with three RBI, Levi Moell doubled and drove in two and Ben Hyland tossed three shutout innings in relief to earn the win for WLS.

Softball

Hamilton 9, Sycamore 2: Annie Hudson tallied three hits, including two doubles, and Autumn Griffie went 2-for-4 and picked up the win on the mound for Hamilton.

Madison 12, Triad 1: Madison Dolby was 2-for-2 and Abby Ehrenborg tripled in a losing effort for Triad in game one of a DH. Russia shutout Triad 4-0 in game two.

Houston 8, Riverside 7: Kristin Davidson and Lauren Anderson both had doubles and Helena Faulder drove in three runs but Riverside let an early lead slip away in the first game of a DH. Madison shutout Riverside 3-0 in the second game.

Girls Lacrosse

Miamisburg 17, Fairmont 4: Bella Baker tallied eight goals, Sydney Calloway chipped in three and Christina Haworth was solid in goal for ‘Burg.

Boys Tennis

Miami Valley 5, Yellow Springs 0: Colton Morehart, Michael Perevozchikov and Reece Quigley each tallied 6-0 6-0 singles wins for Miami Valley.

Track & Field

Roosevelt Memorial: The Dunbar boys finished third, Trotwood-Madison fourth and Ponitz seventh to lead the area teams at the two-day meet. Zamir Youngblood won the triple jump and Dunbar’s relay team won the 400-meter event. Trotwood’s Joshua Byars-Mason took both the 110 and 300-meter hurdles and Darius Wortham won the long jump event. Other local winners included Wayne Lawrence Jr. of Meadowdale in the 200-meter dash, Tyler Wasson of Beavercreek in the pole vault and Wayne in the 440-meter shuttle hurdle relay.
