H.S. Results for 1/14: Lilley hits buzzer-beater for Fairborn boys

Branden Lilley put in the game-winning layup as time expired to lead Fairborn to a 54-52 thriller over Springfield Shawnee in boys basketball Saturday.

Lilley carried Fairborn with 15 points, Brandon Easterling added 14 and Shaunn Monroe 12.

The win evened Fairborn’s record at 6-6. Shawnee dropped to 4-8.

Lebanon 49, Finneytown 38: Dakota Allen recorded 16 points and Parker Smith added 12 points with nine boards as Lebanon opened the second half on 15-6 run to take control.

Tippecanoe 49, Milton-Union 18: Quenten Williams notched 13 points, Zach Bonifas added 10 and Tippecanoe held Milton to five points in the first half.

Vandalia 31, Bellefontaine 30: Miles Joiner scored 17 points as Vandalia opened on a 9-2 run and held on for the victory.

St. Marys Memorial 56, Piqua 55: Derek Jay put up 24 points including a buzzer-beater to sink Piqua. Ben Schmiesing scored 17 points in a losing effort.

Brookville 59, Jefferson 41: Dalton Stewart had 17 points to help Brookville rebound after Friday's loss to Franklin.

Preble Shawnee 67, Tri-County North 42: Joey Bates paced Preble with 17 points, Kevin Ketring added 14 and Levi Lewis 12. Brian Stinson led TCN with 14 points.

Moeller 60, Alter 46: Dominic Laravie scored 11 points and Connor Bazelak and Jimmy Finke each added 10 but Alter couldn't get going against unbeaten Moeller.

Belmont 82, Bowling Green 75: Jeff Hunt paced Belmont with 18 points and Kajuan Ford added 17, overcoming a 33-point performance from Bowling Green's Preston Morman in the road win.

Stivers 52, Yellow Springs 27: Tony Boddie scored 17 points and Jaren Smith 11 for Stivers. Tony Marinelli had 12 points and Andrew Clark 10 for Yellow Springs.

Miami East 54, Troy Christian 46: Logan West led Miami East with 21 points. James Anderson and Seth Wynne each had 11 points for Troy Christian.

Catholic Central 69, Emmanuel Christian 40: Sabien Doolittle had 21 points and Cossy Catanzaro tallied 10 points with 11 rebounds to lead Central. Fred Shropshire and Adonis Davis each put up 14 points for Emmanuel.

Cincinnati Christian 47, Dayton Christian 41: Christian Keese scored 16 points to lead Cin. Christian in the rally victory. Dominic Wilcox paced Dayton Christian with 11 points.

Fort Loramie 37, Minster 35, OT: Evan Berning had 10 points, including the go-ahead jumper with six seconds to play for Loramie. Aaron Ernst paced Minster with 12 points.

Fort Recovery 73, Franklin Monroe 46: Micaiah Cox had 25 points with nine rebounds and Payton Jutte added 13 points for Recovery. Ethan Conley led Franklin Monroe with 15 points.

St. Henry 51, Anna 50: Tyler Schlarman scored 14 points for St. Henry. Wyatt Bensman led Anna with 15 points.

Jackson Center 44, New Knoxville 28: Bryce Sosby tallied 16 points and Brady Wildermuth 14 for Jackson Center. Nick Topp led New Knoxville with 11 points.

Girls Basketball

Troy 39, Springfield 32: Jordan Short scored 15 points and Alaura Holycross added 13 points with 10 rebounds for Troy.

Xenia 45, Meadowdale 15: Trinity Morton-Nooks and Victoria Rady chipped in 13 points apiece to lead Xenia.

Fairfield 45, Lakota East 42: Zahrya Bailey had 13 points, including hitting nine of 10 foul shots, to help Fairfield knock off Lakota East in rally fashion. Jordan Stanley and Bryn Mangold had 10 points apiece for East.

Indian Lake 63, Urbana 51: Kristen Young scored 19 points and Katelyn Hogan added 13 to lead Indian Lake to its first conference win. Hunter Rogan tallied 18 points with eight rebounds for Urbana.

Madison 68, Carlisle 63, 2OT: Lillie Runnells tallied 17 points and Kelli Bush had 15 for Madison. Christa Harris had 18 points for Carlisle.

Oakwood 47, Eaton 39: Lauren Hapgood scored 16 points and Emmy Cobb and Kyndall Ketterer added 10 apiece for Oakwood.

Waynesville 67, Northridge 10: Aubrey Rains and Rachel Murray each had 15 points for unbeaten Waynesville, which held Northridge scoreless through the first half.

Stivers 63, West Carrollton 51: Two girls pulled off double-double performances for Stivers, with Korryn Millerton tallying 22 points with 15 rebounds and Emily Fletcher getting 18 points with 12 rebounds.

Shroder 50, Ponitz 40: Brianna Lyle had 14 points but Ponitz fell behind early and couldn't rally.

Seven Hills 40, New Miami 26: Alyssa Robinette scored 11 points in a losing effort for New Miami.

Mechanicsburg 69, Northeastern 44: Mikayla Dodane paced Mechanicsburg with 23 points, six assists and eight rebounds. Hayley Suchland poured in 32 points in a losing effort for Northeastern.

Versailles 56, Russia 46: Danielle Winner tallied 19 points with nine rebounds and Kami McEldowney added 15 points for Versailles. Laurissa Poling paced Russia with 15 points and nine boards.

New Bremen 45, St. Henry 44: Macy Puthoff had 15 points and Kayla Bergman added 13 to help New Bremen earn the rally victory.

Minster 48, Fort Loramie 23: Rosie Westerbeck led Minster with 11 points.

Wrestling

Lakota West Quad Match: Northmont defeated Xenia 65-28 and Lakota West 44-30. Andrew Knick, Chad Craft, Chase Craft, Hunter Terrill, Josh Winston, Gabe Newburg and Chuck Saul each picked up a pair of individual wins for Northmont.

Miamisburg Invitational: Elijah Perkins was named most outstanding wrestler after helping lead Miamisburg to a fifth-place finish. Cole McGuire also picked up a championship round win for 'Burg.

Charlie Moore Invitational at Reading: Badin finished fourth in the 17-team tournament, with Jacob Fontaine picking up a championship round win. Madison's Drew Price and Carlisle's Reece Human also notched wins in the championship round.

Lima Senior Spartan Invitational: Alex Rhine was named the tournament MVP after helping Mechanicsburg edge Eastwood for the top spot. St. Marys Memorial finished third. Ben Stroud, Tyler Wetzel, Tanner Smith, Corey Bogan, Kaleb Romero and Dustin Knapp all had first place finishes along with Rhine for 'Burg.

Coldwater Cavalier Invitational: Brian Chmielewski, Justin Sigler, Andrew Meyer, Tyler Hemmelgarn, Zach Klosterman and Thomas Schwieterman all had unbeaten runs for Coldwater, which finished as runner-ups to Jay County (Ind.) in the tournament.

Boys Bowling

Lancer Baker Bash: Carroll finished second to Milford after knocking off Ross, St. Xavier and Elder.

Gymnastics

Forest Hills Flip Fest: Miamisburg finished third, with Leah Myers, Keala McCurry and Darcy Brodehl each placing in the top 10 in the all around. Ashley Statzer, Autumn Whiteman and Grace Fisher also placed in the top 10 in events.
