H.S. Results for 4/22: St. Henry coach gets 500th win

John Dorner, in his 28th season as head baseball coach of St. Henry, won his 500th career game in a 12-2 contest over Fort Jennings on Saturday.

Ryan Luttmer was 4-for-4 with three doubles and six RBI and Rylee Deitsch was 4-for-4 with a triple and three RBI to lead St. Henry at the plate.

On the mound Daylon Lange scattered four hits over four innings, striking out five and earning the win.

St. Henry returns to action Sunday versus Covington at the home of the Dayton Dragons, Fifth Third Field.

Baseball

Northmont 4, Piqua 3: Cole Stephens was 2-for-3 with a run scored and picked up the save, Will Ludington drove in two and Derek Koester had a single and a RBI for Northmont.

Tippecanoe 9, Kenton Ridge 0: Seth Clayton earned his first win of the season and Justyn Eichbaum and Clay Barhorst had three hits apiece to pace Tipp. Cameron Kettler was 3-for-4 for KR.

Fenwick 12, Kings 2: Alex Hemmelgarn was named the Reds Futures Showcase MVP after tossing a complete-game victory for Fenwick. C.J. Napier went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI and Connor Hayek added a double and two RBI.

Ben Logan 3, Milton Union 2: Konner Caudill pitched out of a jam, Micah Anderson earned the save and Ben Logan swept a DH. BL won the first game 9-1, with Trace Tevis going 3-for-4 with three RBI.

Mississinawa Valley 10, Botkins 0: Cameron Shimp tallied three hits while Andrew Johns and Kyler Guillozet both plated a pair of runs to lead Mississinawa.

Anna 3, Versailles 0: Carter Elliott threw a complete-game shutout with seven strikeouts for Anna.

Riverside 17, Waynesfield-Goshen 0: Seth Barhorst tallied two hits and four RBI and Tyler Sanford added three RBI for Riverside.

Softball

Lady Redskin Invitational: Mechanicsburg defeated Fort Loramie 4-2 and Tri-Village 5-1 on Saturday, going 2-0 to win the invitational. Mary Mayo was 2-for-3 with a double against Fort Loramie and Miranda Lauchard blasted a three-run homer versus Tri-Village. Fort Loramie and Tri-Village each got a win against Riverside in the other two contests.

Hamilton 13, Colerain 3: Ashley Halcomb had a 4-for-4 game with a double and triple and Allison Wolf homered and drove in three to lead Hamilton.

Badin 9, Piqua 3: Gracie McHugh went 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBI and ace Nicole Rawlings notched two more wins as Badin swept a DH. Badin beat Valley View 11-0 in the first game, with Maddie Curtner going 3-for-3 and blasting a grand slam.

Fenwick 19, Cedarville 7: Rachel Bering picked up a pair of wins, striking out 14 between the two games. Abby Gustely tallied eight hits on the day and Claudia Miller racked up seven RBI. Fenwick won the second game 23-14.

Monroe 9, Preble Shawnee 8: Monroe stormed back from an eight-run deficit in the final two innings to steal the win. Sarah Eschmeyer had a bases-clearing double that brought in the winning run and Faith Hensley went 3-for-3 with two triples.

Edgewood 7, Madison 5: Erin Robison homered and drove in two and Hailey Jackson was 1-for-3 with two RBI for Edgewood in the first game of a DH. Kenzie Saunders had a homer for Madison. Edgewood won the second game 4-3 in eight innings.

Triad 14, Tecumseh 7: Abby Ehrenborg homered and went 3-for-4 and Madison Dolby went 4-for-5 with a double and triple to help Triad split a DH. Tecumseh took the other game 2-1 in nine innings.

West Liberty-Salem 11, Ben Logan 0: Kelsey Day picked up the win and went 3-for-3 at the plate with two triples and three RBI to pace WLS. Mady Stratton and Hallie Strapp each drove in three runs as well.

Versailles 3, Sidney 2: Sidney dropped this and another 6-5 contest to Indian Lake, marking four losses in a row by one run.

Boys Volleyball

Beavercreek 3, Walsh Jesuit 1: Noah Buell tallied 34 assists, Michael Abbitt had 13 kills and Zach Lohner racked up five blocks in the win for Beavercreek. ‘Creek also knocked off Gahanna Lincoln 3-0 on Saturday.

Boys Tennis

Sidney 5, Fairborn 0: Prem Dev and Diachi Urata won their singles matches in straight sets for Sidney.
