H.S. Results for 4/24: Fairborn baseball bests Beavercreek at Fifth-Third

Fairborn took on their backyard rival at Fifth-Third field, defeating Beavercreek 5-3.

Ryan Proffitt was not only the winning pitcher for Fairborn, but also scored three runs on the night.

Will Coleman had a two out, two run double in the top of the fifth inning to put Fairborn ahead 4-2 and the Skyhawks never looked back from there.

Brandon Lilley had a strong night both offensively and defensively. Lilley went 2-for-3 on the night, but also caught a fly ball late in the game to prevent the Beavers from tacking on two runs.

Fairborn will host a double header on Wednesday at Nischwitz Stadium.

Baseball

Tri-County North 5, Arcanum 1: Tanner Booth was the winning pitcher for Tri-County North. Chandler Sproles went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Monroe 12, Bellbrook 1: Collins had a triple and three RBIs, while Page went 2-for-4 with a double in the Monroe victory. Rolph clinched the win, allowing only one run and striking out seven batters. Sizemore earned a double for Bellbrook.

Anna 13, Houston 1: White went 2-for-4 with a triple, a homerun, two additional runs and three RBIs on the night for Anna in their win. Endsley went 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs, also earning the win for Anna.

Centerville 2, Springfield 1: Morgan Colopy and Joey Holiga each had an RBI in the Centerville victory. Joey Hecht won the game for the Elks with ten strikeouts.

Kenton Ridge 6, Graham 2: Zach Schneider and Bailey Armentrout each went 3-for-4 on the night. Schneider also chipped in a triple and two RBIs, while Armentrout had a double. Drew Wichael recorded the win for Kenton Ridge.

Wayne 2, Fairmont 0: Tyler Wynkoop pitched a complete game for Wayne, earning the win with four strikeouts and a shutout. Jacob Reedy and Kevin Baugh chipped in the RBIs for the Warriors.

West Carrollton 5, Xenia 4: Josh Knox went 3-for-4 on the night, including a walk-off two RBI triple. Tre Nixon threw a complete game, earning the win for the Pirates.

Fairfield 1, Sycamore 0: Kaleb Ford went 2-for-3, while Tito Selvie chipped in an RBI and Andrew Sams contributed a double, all for Fairfield in their shutout victory. Kurt Lange pitched a complete game for the shutout, moving to 5-1 on the season.

Tri-Village 8, Ansonia 0: Camren Munchel was the winning pitcher for Tri-Village with two strikeouts. Jackson Plush went 4-for-4 with one RBI and one run scored. Jared Buckley went 3-for-4 also with one RBI and one run scored.

Indian Lake 7, Ben Logan 6: Caudill had eight strikeouts for Ben Logan in the loss, while Alex Jacobs notched the win for Indian Lake with five. Parker Grothaus led the team offensively with three RBIs.

Waynesville 17, Madison 2: Hunt Doepel moved to 4-0 after securing the win for Waynesville, striking out eight batters in the process. Cory Clark went 3-for-3 with two runs, three RBIs and a double.

Tecumseh 4, Bellefontaine 2: Will Sowder secured the win for Tecumseh. Reid Hale led the Arrows offensively, earning a triple and two RBIs, also breaking the 1-1 tie for Tecumseh to go ahead. Wasson was also 2-for-3. Braun and Martz both earned doubles for Bellefontaine.

Northeastern 2, Cedarville 0: Dylan Hand was 3-for-4 on the night while, Aaron Phillips went 2-for-3, chipping in a double and two RBIs. Bo Davis tallied an additional double, while Alex Alexander earned a double and two RBIs.

Softball

Fort Loramie 11, Botkins 1: Abby Holthaus went 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBIs in the win. Teammates Tori Barga, Aleah Frilling and Megan Koppin each chipped in a double. Aleah Frilling earned the win for Fort Loramie and struck out four batters.

West Liberty-Salem 9, Mechanicsburg 5: Kelsey Day was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and also earned the win for WLS on the mound. Kenedie Cox was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Grace Woodruff went 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Edgewood 12, Talawanda 1: Sam Davis earned the win for Edgewood, moving her to 11-3. Cloey Westerfield went 3-for-3 and Jenna Evans went 2-for-4 with two doubles. Lauren Baker went 1-for-2 with a homerun for Talawanda.

Sidney 4, Butler 3: Grace Shell struck out twelve batters to earn the win for Sidney. Morgan Carey was 2-for-3 with a run scored and Emily Knasel went 1-for-1 with an RBI and two stolen bases. Hayden Spurgeon had the two out single in the bottom of the seventh to give Sidney the go ahead run.

Monroe 15, Bellbrook 5: Hensley made two hits on four attempts, earning a double, three RBIs and two stolen bases in the process. Key went 3-for-4 while Arnold went 1-for-3 with a homerun and three RBIs. Hunter Salyers earned the win for Monroe.

Fenwick 3, Alter 2: Jessica Finley secured the win for Fenwick with eight strikeouts, allowing only one hit and two runs. Annabelle Thomas went 2-for-3 with one RBI and one stolen base, while Abby Gustely went 2-for-4 with one run, one RBI and two stolen bases.

Chaminade Julienne 16, Carroll 6: CJ’s winning pitcher Carly Fugett moved to 6-1 on the season, earning the win with ten strikeouts and contributed a triple offensively. Erin Heiney went 2-for-3. Joseph had a double for Carroll in their loss.

Newton 7, Covington 6: Lexie Long, Ashley Cecil, Emma Dammeyer, Kara Schaffer, and Justice Warner each collected multiple hits for Covington in the loss.

Kenton Ridge 3, Graham 0: Carly Turner had the shutout for Kenton Ridge, while teammate Madison Hall chipped in three RBIs and a double to help secure the Kenton Ridge victory. Hicks and Kurnutte each went 2-for-3 for Graham in their loss.

Lakota East 19, Graham 1: Lewis went 3-for-4 with a home run in the Lakota East 18 run victory, while Larson went 2-for-3 with a double and Beckham went 2-for-2 with a homerun and a double. Richardson netted the win for Lakota East in five innings.

Boys Tennis

Miami Valley 5, Legacy Christian 0: Colton Morehart, Michael Perevozchikov, Reece Quiqley (singles), Makul Sharma/Niyanth Reddy and Joe Keller/Nathan Howell (doubles) all won their sets to sweep Legacy Christian. The win moves Miami Valley to 10-0.

Lehman Catholic 5, Northridge 0: Griffin West, Sam Ritze, Cole Kramer (singles), Ryan Goettemoller/Danny Lins and Sean Toner/Elias Bezy (doubles) all won their sets to sweep Northridge.

Franklin 3, Dixie 2: Joe Balon, Nathaniel Rudd (singles) and Austin Woods/Evan Harris (doubles) all won their sets to clinch the match for Franlkin. Mason Swigart chipped in a singles win for Dixie, while the doubles team of Molly Buxton and Alex Perminov won their set.

Tippecanoe 5, Piqua 0: Colin Achterberg, Evan Hill, David Shininger (singles), Noah Blake/Ian Stewart and Christian Blake/Levi Berning (doubles) all won their sets to sweep Piqua.

Catholic Central 4, Springfield 1: Brougher, Kelly and T. Kavanaugh all won their sets to sweep the singles matchups for Catholic Central. The doubles team of J. Kavanaugh and Woeber chipped in for their doubles win, while Kampman and Grooms had the lone set win for Springfield.

Valley View 4, Dayton Christian 1: Chase Midkiff, Ian Barnett (singles), Ben Holbrook/Ben Lewan and Michael Fischer/Carter Notle (doubles) all won their sets for Valley View for the win. Paul Hidge had the lone singles victory for Dayton Christian.

Tecumseh 5, Greenon 0: Mitchell Foland, Michael Green, Drew Sarihan (singles), Christian Hunt/Johan Goksor and Scott Sinkhorn/Jacob Lewis (doubles) all won their sets for Tecumseh to sweep Greenon. The sweep moves Tecumseh to 13-1.

Greenview 5, Fairborn 0: Irvin, McComas, Hoepfl (singles), Smith/Rogers and Link/Hovan (doubles) all won their sets to sweep the match for Greenview.

Yellow Springs 5, Valley View 0: Augie Knemeyer, Forrest Rowe, Peter Day (singles), Kasey Linkhart/Dylan Deitrich and Kike Coronado/Tyler Linkhart (doubles) all won their sets for Yellow Springs in their sweep of Valley View.

Preble Shawnee 4, Carroll 1: Pierce Elliott (singles), Alec Hamblin/Chris Allen and Malorie Plaugher/Brendan Whisman (doubles) won their sets for Preble Shawnee. Nick Gross had the lone singles win for Carroll. Carroll forfeited their 3rd single set.

Boys Volleyball

Carroll 3, Roger Bacon 0: Carroll won their sets 25-17, 25-11 and 29-27. Brun had 11 kills, while Gard chipped in seven and Stevens chipped in six. Bethel tallied 27 assists and 11 digs.
