H.S. Results for 5/9: Covington softball wins on late game walkoff

In a hard fought game, Covington softball emerged victorious over Tri-Village, 8-7.

The win came courtesy of a walkoff single by Morgan Studabaker in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Tri-Village had the intial lead, winning 3-2 at the of the 2nd inning, but four unanswered runs left Tri-Village down by four at the end of the 5th inning, Covington up 7-3.

In an attempt to comeback Tri-Village put up three runs in the 6th and another in the 7th, but their comeback fell short thanks to the walkoff single by Studabaker.

Morgan Studabaker, Lexie Long and Justice Warner each put up multiple hits for Covington.

Baseball

Kenton Ridge 8, Triad 0: Bailey Armentrout and Jacob Eberhart combined for the two hit shutout victory for Kenton Ridge. Zach Schneider had a two run double, while Calvin Dilbert batted in a two run single.

St. Henry 4, New Bremen 3: St. Henry earned the win in their seventh extra inning game of the season, besting New Bremen in an exciting 8th inning. Parker Link earned the win for St. Henry with one strikeout, while Dayton Lange started the game, allowing two runs and striking out four.

Riverside 15, Jackson Center 1: Aaron Kean earned the win on the mound for Riverside, striking out one batter, allowing only one hit and one run. Seth Barhorst, Aaron Kean, Josh Ritzma and Tyler Sanford all had doubles for Riverside, while Hayden Robinson chipped in a triple.

Indian Lake 6, Fairborn 3: Dylan Albright led Indian Lake offensively with three hits, while Nate Kaffenbarger and Parker Grothouse each chipped in three RBIs. Fields had seven strikeouts for Fairborn.

Fairfield 16, Edgewood 6: Ryan Barker earned the win for Fairfield. Andrew Sams led the team offensively, going 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and two RBIs. Brock Mathis and Noah Bauman each went 2-for-3.

Softball

Little Miami 7, Turpin 5: Tayler Clark earned the win on the mound for Little Miami, moving to 9-2 on the season. Kaleigh Kilburn led the team offensively with two doubles and an RBI, going 3-for-3 on the night, while Kaelyn Stenger was close behind, also going 3-for-3 with a double.

Fort Loramie 17, Jackson Center 7: M. Imwalle had an outstanding offensive night for Fort Loramie with four runs and one RBI. A. Frilling earned the win for Fort Loramie and went 1-for-6 at the plate with two runs earned. D. Fogt chipped in four RBIs.

West Liberty-Salem 13, Greenon 0: West Liberty-Salem run ruled Greenon in five innings. Kelsey Day recorded the win for West Liberty-Salem. Day went 2-for-2 at the plate with three RBIs. Kenedie Cox led the team with a triple and a stolen base, going 3-for-3.

Triad 8, Versailles 4: Collier had a solid game all around, going 2-for-3 on the night while also earning the win for Triad. Ehrenborg was solid behind the plate, as well as offensively, going 2-for-2 on the night with two homeruns. Dixon was 2-for-3 with a double.

Boys Tennis

Miami Valley 5, Fairmont 0: Colton Morehart, Michael Perevozchikov, Reece Quigley (singles), Makul Sharma/Niyanth Reddy and Joe Keller/Amin Ahmed(doubles) all won their sets in Miami Valley’s sweep of Fairmont.

Lehman Catholic 3, Tippecanoe 2: Griffin West, Danny Lins (singles) and Sam Ritze/Ryan Goettemoeller (doubles) all won their sets to win the match for Lehman Catholic. Evan Hill had the lone singles win for Tippecanoe, while the doubles team of Christian Blake and Levi Berning earned the lone doubles win.

Eaton 4, Trotwood-Madison 1: Brad Kramer, Cody Frizzell (singles), Andrew Collins/Branson Ball and Dylan Hauser/John Altom (doubles) each won their sets to win the match for Eaton. Kobe Vinegar had the lone singles win for Trotwood-Madison.
