H.S. Results for 4/15: Catholic Central snaps long losing skid

The Catholic Central softball team is on a two-game win streak.

Quite a monumental feat for a team that had a 28-game losing streak going into Saturday.

Central defeated Stivers 13-11 in the first game of a doubleheader and 5-4 in game two.

Adelaide Taylor and Laura Williams each earned wins on the mound, marking the first of their varsity career.

It marks the first win for Central since 2015.

Baseball

Lebanon 8, Fairborn 5: Conor Schmitt was 3-for-3 and Jackson Palcic improved to 2-0 to lead Lebanon in game one of a DH. Lebanon knocked off Princeton 11-1 in the second game, with Collin Mailhot picking up his first win of the season.

Tippecanoe 7, Oakwood 1: Justyn Eichbaum struck out eight and went 2-for-3 with a double, triple and two RBI to pace Tipp. Zach Losey helped with a 3-for-4 day at the plate and Josh Riebe went 2-for-2.

West Carrollton 21, Sidney 4: Tyler Hunt struck out five over four innings and Denver Franklin and Josh Knox both homered and doubled for WC.

Moeller 15, Vandalia 3: Damon Dues was 3-for-4 with a double and Dolen Fults 2-for-4 with a double but Vandalia suffered its first loss of the season.

Mason 11, Centerville 1: Morgan Colopy and Alex Firsdon both had doubles in the loss for Centerville.

Chaminade Julienne 11, Northmont 4: Ben Thomas improved to 2-0, Ryan Peltier drove in four runs and Brendan Kadel and Mark Barhorst each doubled for CJ.

Tecumseh 4, Xenia 0: Will Sowder and Reid Hale combined on the shutout for Tecumseh in game one of a DH. Xenia won game two 11-5, with Evan Adkins going 3-for-4 with a double for Xenia.

Northwestern 12, Covington 1: Derek Whip doubled and drove in two runs, Noah Brown added a double and Isaiah Cydrus earned the win on the mound for NW.

Kenton Ridge 17, Eaton 3: Jacob Eberhart improved to 2-0, Cameron Kettler hit two triples and Zach Schneider plated five runs for Kenton Ridge. Trevor Pittman had two triples for Eaton.

Indian Lake 7, Coldwater 4: Tyler Reprogle recorded three hits and three RBI and Parker Grothaus plated a pair of runs to lead Lake. Jacob Wenning tallied two RBI for Coldwater.

West Liberty-Salem 11, Graham 1: Cayden Whitman picked up his first win of the season in the complete game, Levi Moell tripled and drove in three runs and Trevor Burden was 2-for-2 with three RBI to lead WLS.

Northeastern 7, West Jefferson 6: Dylon Hand was 3-for-5 with a double and two RBI and Grant Hodson and Mac Davis were each 3-for-3 for NE in the first game of a DH. West Jefferson won the second game 9-3.

Tri-Village 15, Randolph Southern 8: Camren Munchel improved to 3-0, earning the win in both games of a doubleheader for Tri-Village. TV won the second game 17-6. Christian Ricker finished 6-of-8 with two doubles, a triple and four runs scored and Mason Sullenbarger was 6-for-7 with a double and two RBI.

St. Henry 9, Lima Bath 4: Curtis Uhlenhake doubled and homered to help SH earn a split and avenge a 6-1 loss in game one.

Riverside 15, St. Marys 9: Caleb Stevens went 6-for-6 with two doubles and three RBI out of the leadoff spot and Tyler Sanford drove in four for Riverside in the rout.

Softball

Miamisburg 19, Spg. Shawnee 2: Erin Teaney and Tori Faulkner both blasted home runs, Ashley Haas was 3-for-4 with five RBI and Abbey Haas was 4-for-4 with two RBI to lead Miamisburg in game one of a DH. Shawnee took game two 11-7.

Mason 8, Northmont 0: Erin Mangen hit a double but Northmont couldn’t get the bats going against unbeaten Mason pitcher Elle Buffenbarger.

Badin 3, Edgewood 2: Nicole Rawlings picked up two wins Saturday in DH action. Schelby Schmitt doubled twice in the second game. Badin won its first game 5-2 versus McAuley, with Maddie Curtner going 3-for-3 with a double.

Graham 2, West Liberty-Salem 1: Madison Bryant drove in a run and picked up the win on the mound to pace Graham in the win. Kenedie Cox recorded two hits for WLS in a losing effort.

Kenton Ridge 7, Covington 1: Carly Turner blasted two home runs and notched her ninth win to lead Ridge in game one of a DH. KR won game two 12-5, with Olivia Lee hitting a grand slam and Lexee Trainer and Jade Espinosa adding home runs.

Mississinawa Valley 11, Fairlawn 1: Kinsie Blocher drove in five runs on a 2-for-3 day and Makayla Coning and Bailey Johnson each tallied three hits to lead Mississinawa.

Tri-Village 21, Randolph Southern 8: Trisa Porter went 3-for-5 and plated four runs and Allie Downing was 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI for Tri-Village.
