High School Results for Aug. 21: Centerville wins fifth straight tournament

Marissa Wenzler was the runner-up with a 70 and Kayla Ramsey added a 73, helping the Centerville girls golf team win its fifth straight tournament at the Lady Elk Invitational on Monday at Yankee Trace.

Centerville finished with a 301, edging Dublin Coffman by nine strokes. Springboro was 8th with a 343 and Lakota West 10th at 350.

Spg. Shawnee 211, Urbana 254: Bella DeMayo of Shawnee led the field with a 45.

Northeastern 222, Triad 230: Kayleigh Boldman earned medalist honors with a 48 and Lexi Moore was the runner-up at 49 for Triad.

Fairbanks 177, Mechanicsburg 231: Emily Wilson shot a 38 and Natalie Parker a 41 for Fairbanks. Ashley Bumgardner paced ‘Burg with a 55.

Boys Golf

LaSalle Invite: A.J. Cherubini and Dhaivat Pandya led the field at 73 as Centerville edged Mason by six strokes to win the tournament.

Alter 149, Dayton Christian 189: Nick Kreusch and A.J. Pothast of Alter tied with Philip Miller of Dayton Christian for medalist honors at 35.

Spg. Shawnee 184, Urbana 191: Grant Engle paced Shawnee with a 35 and Camden VanVelzor added a 45. William McDavid tallied a 41 for Urbana.

Graham 153, Ben Logan 177: Any Milligan was the medalist for Graham with a 36. Ethan Ricketts shot a 40 and Will Kenoyer a 41 in a losing effort for Ben Logan.

Northeastern 168, Triad 208: Jake Calhoun had the low score of 40 and Josh Calhoun added a 44. Creighton Bradley led Triad with a 48.

Cedarville 173, Greeneview 180: Adam Wood tallied a 40 and Noah Myers 42 to carry Cedarville. Mason Witt earned medalist honors for Greeneview with a 35.

West Jefferson 168, West Liberty-Salem 173: Max Eggleston shot a 41 and Tyler Gardner a 43 in a losing effort for WLS.

Newton 181, Twin Valley South 191: Chet Jamison shot a 36 to lead Newton. Nate Osborn was the medalist for TVS with a 35.

Tri-County North 199, National Trail 231: Ethan Kelley shot the low score of 41 for TCN. Chris Brubaker had a 47 for National Trail.

Ponitz 172, Legacy Christian 192: Devin Wallace paced Ponitz with a 43.

Boys Soccer

Bethel 10, Dixie 0: Tyler Brueckman poured in four goals, Nick Schmidt added two and Daniel Ross had a goal with 3 assists to lead Bethel to an opening-season win.

Twin Valley South 4, Madison 0: Hunter Bennett put TVS on the board, Jacob Wells added two second-half goals and Bryant Marker tacked on the final score.

Girls Soccer

Northeastern 7, Emmanuel Christian 2: Caityln Hack and Debbie Nichols knocked in a pair of goals apiece and Karsen Rhoades, Megan Davis and Karen Kinder each added a score for Northeastern.

Girls Tennis

Lebanon 3, Monroe 2: Katie Oliver and Mollie Langdon both prevailed in 3 sets to lead Lebanon. Renee Lyons had a singles win for Monroe.

Tippecanoe 4, Milton Union 1: Amelia Zwiezig beat Hannah Fugate in a 3-set tiebreak and Dakota Schroeder tacked on another singles win to lead Tippecanoe. Meredith Fitch had a singles win for Milton Union.

Sidney 4, Urbana 1: Hailey New, Naomi Riegel and Madison Frank each grabbed a singles win for Sidney.

Kenton Ridge 3, Lehman Catholic 2: Macy Wallace, Gretchen Hefner and Elli Schleinitz took all three singles matches. Lehman Catholic won the doubles portion.

Tecumseh 5, Fairborn 0: Ashlee Fite, Emilee Morris and Kayla Wright swept the singles matches for Tecumseh.

Eaton 5, Dixie 0: Sophia Murphy, Tess Murphy and Quinlyn Sittloh captured all three singles matches for Eaton.

Valley View 5, Edgewood 0: Kelsey Kitchel, Marissa Gilbert and Porscha Fleming each grabbed singles wins to lead Valley View.

Miami Valley 4, Carlisle 1: Gabby Shaw and Simra Ahmed each had singles wins for Miami Valley. Grace Black notched a win in third singles for Carlisle.

Girls Volleyball

Badin 3, Hamilton 0: Badin opened the season with a win with scores of 25-12, 25-7 and 25-12.

Edgewood 3, Madison 1: Kenzie Bronnegberg had 6 kills with 2 aces and Paige Porter 3 kills and 4 aces for Madison in a losing effort.

Brookville 3, National Trail 1: Brookville took the final two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-21 to break a 1-1 tie. Risa Griffin had 15 digs and Lexi Stiner 8 kills in a losing effort for National Trail.

Tecumseh 3, Fairborn 1: Kayleigh Finlayson had 15 digs with 3 kills and Hani Sampson added 10 digs in a losing effort for Fairborn. Tecumseh took the final three sets to earn the rally win.

Graham 3, Bellefontaine 0: Carly Carafa put up 20 kills with 13 digs, Katie Milligan had 9 kills with 3 aces and Molly Hamilton 38 assists to lead Graham.

Cedarville 3, Emmanuel Christian 2: Sara Beste carried Cedarville with 26 kills and 17 digs and Kalley Schulz tacked on 46 assists with 10 digs.

Troy Christian 3, Bethel 0: Cassie Mead tallied 3 aces with 2 kills and 2 digs and Bianca Keener added 2 aces with 3 kills and a block to lead Bradford.
