RELATED: Huguely tells story of how he ended up at OSU
Huguely was Meadowdale’s MVP in 2014. He could have played Division II or III football, he said last year, but joined Ohio State’s program as a walk-on in the fall of 2015.
“Of course, I don’t play, so I feel like every practice is my game,” Huguely said. “I try to give the defense a look. If the first or second string need me at different positions if people go down in camp, they tell me what to do and I just go.”
Two other Dayton area walk-ons are playing in the game: Chaminade-Julienne grad Cin’Quan Haney, a senior cornerback, and Thurgood Marshall grad Derrick Malone, a junior tight end.
Wayne grad Robert Landers is getting plenty of playing time on the defensive line, for the Scarlet team.
