“They wouldn’t let me do a whole lot, but it’s coming along,” said Kirkpatrick, who has been sitting out with a fractured right hand. “I can finally actually squeeze my hand.”
Kirkpatrick, who last month said he broke his hand in a “freak accident” without further elaboration, participated in some position drills but not any 11-on-11 on work. And he said he expects that to be the case for next week’s mandatory minicamp as well.
“I want to take it slow,” he said. “I don’t want to just rush out there for what? We ain’t playing no game or nothing. So I don’t want to go out there and re-injure it or get hit on the hand. When I come back I want to be 100 percent.”
