High School Highlights for Dec. 14

A.J. Harris had 21 points with 8 assists and Will Green added 20 points and 15 rebounds but Dunbar lost to unbeaten Hargrave Military Academy (VA) in the Capital City Rumble at the Frankfort Civic Center in Kentucky.

Jabari McGhee led Hargrave (10-0) with 27 points.

Dunbar (4-1) will play at North College Hill on Tuesday.

Northmont 66, West Carrollton 54: Cameron Taylor led Northmont (3-1) with 13 points and Jordan Lowery added 12. Mehdi Hussein scored 18 points for West Carrollton (0-4).

Miamisburg 49, Vandalia 43: Connor Brown posted 14 points and Justin Williams added 11 for Miamisburg (3-1).

Alter 59, Urbana 56: Kraig Howe scored 12 points and Nate Burger and Nick Coleman added 10 apiece for Alter (2-2).

Tecumseh 65, Kenton Ridge 46: Dalton Davis recorded 17 points and Traquan Brown had 16 for Tecumseh (4-1).

Franklin 85, Brookville 43: Area scoring leader Luke Kennard totaled 33 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for unbeaten Franklin (4-0). Kennard is averaging 40.8 points through four games.

Oakwood 55, Miami East 40: Grant Pepper tallied 23 points and 12 rebounds for Oakwood (1-3), which took command with a 15-2 run in the second quarter.

Seton Catholic (IN) 64, Tri-County North 43: Austin Hutchins had 14 points in a losing effort for Tri-County North (3-2).

Jefferson 66, Yellow Springs 52: Austin Clements led Jefferson (1-0) with 16 points and Shelby Woodall recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Girls Basketball

Trotwood 55, Springfield 21: Aysah Ingram led Trotwood (4-2) with 20 points.

Vandalia 50, Miamisburg 35: Rylie Parkhurst scored 17 points in a losing effort.

Alter 90, Purcell Marian 16: Braxtin Miller paced Alter with 16 points and Emma Bockrath added 15 points to help Alter (6-0) win in blowout fashion.

Carroll 66, McNicholas 51: Madison Schroeder chipped in 21 points and 16 rebounds and Amanda Schroeder added 13 for Carroll (4-2).

Chaminade Julienne 78, Roger Bacon 22: CJ (4-3) took control with a 21-3 run in the second quarter.

Eaton 64, Franklin 14: Autumn Whirley paced Eaton (7-0) with 13 points.

Waynesville 62, Northridge 32: Abby Search led Waynesville (1-5) with 19 points and Molly Keeton added 12.

Bellbrook 62, Brookville 25: Lexie Seger paced Bellbrook (3-3) with 17 points and Emily Smith added 12.

Thurgood 65, Butlerville United Methodist 29: Dache' Amos tallied 16 points and Timberlynn Donaldson added 10 points with 10 rebounds for Thurgood (6-0).

Miami East 67, Newton 30: Ashley Current had 19 points and Trina Current scored 16 for Miami East (6-1).

Wrestling

Dayton Christian’s Jacob Danishek won a wrestling title at the Ironman tournament at Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls on Saturday. Danishek, a three-time state champion, won by a 4-2 decision over Blair Academy’s Mason Manville in the 152-pound weight class. Jacob’s only career defeat came last year at the Ironman when he lost in the finals of the 145-pound weight division.
