Graham’s David Taylor enjoys dominant run at wrestling World Cup

David Taylor is making waves overseas for USA Wrestling.

The Graham High School graduate is undefeated for Team USA at the 2017 Freestyle World Cup in Iran, including a dominant victory over former Olympic champion Sharif Sharifov of Azerbaijan.

But apparently he wasn’t satisfied with a mere tech fall win, so he went back to work and pinned Hassan Yazdani Cherati of Iran, the reigning Olympic freestyle champion (74 kg) from Rio.

Taylor, a four-time state champion for the Falcons and two-time national champion at Penn State, and teammate Jordan Burroughs both went undefeated at the World Cup, but Iran defeated the US for the team title.

Better eye, better contact key to Hamilton’s offensive improvement

Reds manager Bryan Price isn’t a big fan of millennial-oriented statistics such as “exit velocity,” but he almost couldn’t avoid using the growing-in-popularity term when asked recently about Reds center fielder Billy Hamilton’s offensive improvement. Hamilton reached base once on an error in Sunday’s 6-4 loss to...

Upon further review, MLB interleague play has run its course

Interleague play used to be great. Now it’s just… there. Disagree? Well, let’s try an experiment. Who won the Reds-Yankees series last week? If you answered “Reds” or “Yankees,” you got it wrong. It was neither. They split two games at Great American Ball Park. Yes, it was a two-game series. Did you know...
