Former Wright State pitcher Joe Smith traded to Chicago Cubs

Former Wright State Raiders pitcher Joe Smith was traded from the Anaheim Angels to the Chicago Cubs on Monday just before the trade deadline.

Smith, 32, was 1-4 with a 3.82 ERA in 38 appearances for the Angels. This was his third season with the Angels. He debuted with the New York Mets in 2007 and pitched with the Cleveland Indians from 2009-2013.
