According to witnesses, an incident broke out when players from both sides went after a loose ball. A few fans reportedly came onto the court and players from each team left the bench to go onto the court. More than 10 players were reportedly ejected from the game.

Fairmont was leading 52-26 when the game was stopped. It is Trotwood’s first loss after five straight wins to start the season. The Firebirds move to 6-3 with their fourth consecutive win.

The two schools will await word from the Ohio High School Athletic Association on punishment from the incident. By rule, any player or coach ejected from the game is suspended for the next two games.
