Eye on the O-line: Bengals looking to improve up front

Training camp is just a little more than two weeks away, and the chatter is kicking up around each and every NFL team and all of their idiosyncrasies. In the Bengals’ case, focal point No. 1 figures to be the offensive line, and Pro Football Spot this morning took a look at that question.

In asking “can the offensive line develop cohesion,” Spot doesn’t go very deep here to answer the question prompted by the free agency departures of Andrew Whitworth to the Rams and Kevin Zeitler to the Browns.

Former Bengals right tackle Andre Smith has re-joined the team, and Cincinnati drafted center J.J. Dielman of Utah in the fifth round, although it's not yet clear that center is his best spot. Undrafted free agents Dustin Stanton and Landon Lechler will also compete when the team opens training camp July 28 on the fields just west of Paul Brown Stadium (free and open to the public).
