Expressing ‘bitter disappointment’ toward refs cost Harbaugh 10 grand

Jim Harbaugh’s postgame diatribe against Big Ten officials after his Michigan team lost at Ohio State on Saturday has left him lighter in the wallet.

The conference announced late Monday a public reprimand for Harbaugh, who was also fined $10,000.

The Wolverines’ mentor took issue with several aspects of how his team’s 30-27 overtime loss was officiated, including the spot on a crucial fourth down in overtime and a pair of pass interference calls (one that went against his team and one that was not called against Ohio State).

In a statement, the league said Harbaugh violated a rule requiring “civility toward all, and respect, particularly toward opponents and officials.”

According to the USA Today coaches’ salary database, Harbaugh is making over $9 million in total compensation this year.

Franklin’s Kennard takes his best shot at NBA draft

There’s no telling when Luke Kennard, Franklin’s favorite son, will go in the NBA draft Thursday night. The only sure thing is the impact it’ll have on his family. “It’s unreal,” said Mark Kennard, Luke’s father, from New York earlier this week. “I’m sure if I hear his name called it’ll be...

Bullpen blows up as Reds fall to Rays; help may soon be on the way

Scott Schebler hit his 20th home run and drove in another run, but the Reds’ bullpen imploded Wednesday afternoon in an 8-3 loss to the Rays. Cincinnati has dropped 11 of 12, and is in danger of slipping out of the wildcard race before midseason. The Reds left Tampa Bay in bad shape, Billy Hamilton getting caught in a rundown and being tagged...
