Expressing ‘bitter disappointment’ toward refs cost Harbaugh 10 grand

Jim Harbaugh’s postgame diatribe against Big Ten officials after his Michigan team lost at Ohio State on Saturday has left him lighter in the wallet.

The conference announced late Monday a public reprimand for Harbaugh, who was also fined $10,000.

The Wolverines’ mentor took issue with several aspects of how his team’s 30-27 overtime loss was officiated, including the spot on a crucial fourth down in overtime and a pair of pass interference calls (one that went against his team and one that was not called against Ohio State).

In a statement, the league said Harbaugh violated a rule requiring “civility toward all, and respect, particularly toward opponents and officials.”

According to the USA Today coaches’ salary database, Harbaugh is making over $9 million in total compensation this year.

Kenton Ridge softball has holes to fill, but returns all-state pitcher

Eighth-year Kenton Ridge softball coach Sarah Schalnat has to replace her entire infield from last season and lost a pair of .400 hitters from a potent lineup, which means the rest of the Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Division may close the gap on the Cougars, who have won four straight crowns. But maybe not. Schalnat still has one of the best...
