Down on the farm: Senzel keeps stroking, and Tebow tackles Reds’ Tortugas

Early returns since the All-Star break have not been kind to the Reds' minor league teams, although Pensacola Blue Wahoos third baseman Nick Senzel extended his hitting streak to 14 games Thursday night in a 2-0 loss to Mississippi.

A little further south, Daytona (high Class A) fell 5-4 in extra innings, as former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL quarterback Tim Tebow smashed a home run for St. Lucie in the first game. St. Lucie won the second game 1-0.

At least the Dayton Dragons won, clobbering Clinton 8-4 as Jose Siri hit his 15th home run of the season and added a double while Taylor Trammell had a pair of hits and his 25th stolen base.

Wonder who will make it to the Major Leagues first, Trammell, Siri or Tebow?

And what’s a Tortuga?
