The five Dayton Flyers seniors said goodbye to the fans on social media after losing 64-58 to Wichita State on Friday in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

On Instagram on Tuesday, Kyle Davis wrote, “I wish this season didn't end as early as it did, but over my four years at UD I've grown as a person and player and realized all good things comes to an end. I want to thank everyone from the students, fans, coaches, and families for the love and support my four years of being a Flyer. There is no place better ... and for my brothers remember the hard work we put in everyday to get where we are. Enjoy it. ... The four seniors built a legacy that will always be remembered forever. Never forget as one door closes another opens. #TrueTeam #RIPSteve #LOWD”

On Twitter, Charles Cooke wrote: “To the U of Dayton, the fans, Flyer Faithful. Thank you, all year long. You've been incredible my two seasons playing in a Dayton uniform. Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, and regardless of the outcome of a game, win, lose or draw, these are incredible people first and players second, and no game can make me feel any differently. #OnceaFlyeralwaysaFlyer”

Others used Instagram to address the fans.

Kendall Pollard wrote: “As I walked off the court last night & was able to say one last goodbye to the Flyer Faithful, I've never been more proud to say I'm a Dayton Flyer. To have played in that arena every night in front of 13,000 of the best fans in the country. To be loved in the city of Dayton. The best part of it all is my teammates and I are a big reason for that. We always played as hard as we could night in & night out. Obviously we wanted it to end differently, but every loss brings a win. So thankful for every part of my journey here and I'm looking forward to what's next! Again, thanks to The University of Dayton for all of the blessings it's given me, my coaches, all my teammates that have played with me over the past four years, all the fans, all the alumni and everybody that has helped me come in as a kid and leave as a man!”

Jeremiah Bonsu wrote on Instagram: “I got to live out this crazy dream people told me wasn't possible. I'm gonna miss this. Thank you to Flyer Nation for the support.”
