Dayton (22-5, 13-2) plays Virginia Commonwealth at 8 p.m. March 1 at UD Arena. It will be senior night for the winningest class in school history. Now the attendance mark will be on the line, too, though there's little doubt UD will get the crowd it needs. Through Tuesday, when Dayton beat George Mason 83-70 in front of a crowd of 13,071, the Flyers were averaging 12,989 fans per game.
In the first season of UD Arena, Dayton averaged 12,982 fans. Last season, Dayton averaged 12,717. UD has topped 13,000 in eight of 15 home games. It is 14-1 at home. If Dayton sells out its last game with 13,455 fans, its average attendance for the season will be 13,018.
