Montana Twitter account live-tweets UCLA game that never happened

There was supposed to be a basketball game played between the University of Montana and UCLA on Wednesday night. But due to rapidly escalating wildfires in the Los Angeles region, the game was ultimately canceled.

But the Montana Twitter account wasn’t having it. No, the game must go on, even if only hypothetically, even if just on cyberspace. The Grizzlies live-tweeted what might have happened if the game had taken place, and the thread is honest, plenty realistic, sprinkled with humor — everything a hypothetical basketball game should be.

The user of the account was sure to note that it was not intended to make light of what is a very serious situation in Los Angeles. It was just a fun exercise of ‘What if’ and likely just a bored social media manager.

So there you have it. A statement win for the Montana Grizzlies, a tough home loss for the Bruins.
