College football recruiters interested in handful of Alter Knights

Although their season ended a week earlier than they had hoped, a handful of Alter Knights are looking at where they might continue their football careers.

Alter coach Ed Domsitz told Cox Media Group Ohio that standout linebacker (and soccer goalie) David Rueth recently received an offer from Ball State, where former high school teammate Chris Beech just completed his freshman season.

Miami University has also shown interest in the 6-foot-1, 205-pound Rueth, who made a visit to Wisconsin when the Badgers played host to Ohio State in October.

Domsitz also said senior offensive lineman Nick Busher is likely headed to the Ivy League.

The 6-foot-3, 300-pounder is considering Cornell, Yale and Pennsylvania.

Quarterback Ryan Markoff, kicker Matt Ruffolo and linebacker Kyle Roshong have also been getting college interest.

Rueth, Busher and Roshong all made the AP All-Ohio first team.
