Wright State gets verbal commitment from 6-8 Florida forward

The Wright State men’s basketball team picked up a verbal commitment Monday night from Roderick Davis, a 6-foot-8 forward from Brandon High School in Brandon, Fla.

According to the Tampa Bay Times, Florida Atlantic, James Madison and Colgate also recruited Davis. He averaged 13.2 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.4 blocks as a junior.

AHEliteBasketball.com described Davis as an “athletic forward who can score off the bounce and has the ability to overpower smaller post players.”

FloridaHoops.com called Davis “one of the more versatile forwards in Florida’s 2014 class.”

Davis is the third player in Wright State’s 2014 recruiting class, joining Grant Evans, a 6-3 guard from Wapahani, Ind., and Justin Mitchell, a 6-4 guard from Fort Wayne, Ind.
