UD women earn NCAA tournament bid


The University of Dayton women’s basketball team will play St. John’s in the first round of the NCAA tournament at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Carnesecca Arena - St. John’s home court - in Queens, N.Y.

The Flyers (27-2) are seeded seventh. St. John’s (18-12) is a No. 10 seed.

Navy will play Kentucky at 12:05 p.m. on Sunday. The winners of both games will play on Tuesday.

UConn is the top seed in the Bridgeport (Conn.) Region.
