Season-ticket sales soaring for UD women’s basketball team

Season-ticket sales for the Dayton women’s basketball team have nearly doubled, the university announced Thursday.

The Flyers begin the season ranked 14th in the AP poll and 16th in the USA Today Coaches poll. The excitement has translated to increased ticket sales: from 638 last season to 1,069 this season.

Dayton averaged 2,239 fans last season, the best mark in the A-10 and the 41st best in the nation.

Dayton opens the season against UC Riverside on Saturday at the Hawkeye Challenge. Its home opener is Nov. 15 against Akron.
