Saint Joseph’s beats Flyers again on late 3 by Galloway

Dayton’s fate is in the NCAA selection committee’s hands now. The Flyers lost 70-67 to Saint Joseph’s on Friday afternoon in the quarterfinals of the Atlantic 10 tournament at the Barclays Center.

Langston Galloway’s 3-pointer with 19 seconds left proved to be the game-winner. The Flyers and their fans thought he got away with a push-off on defender Kyle Davis. Galloway finished with 31 points. He also beat UD in January with a 3-pointer at the buzzer in overtime.

Dayton (23-10) fell to 0-3 against the Hawks (22-9) this season. Some experts said Dayton made the NCAA tournament field with their win Thursday against Saint Bonaventure, but they won’t know for sure until Sunday evening.

Dyshawn Pierre scored 11 points for the Flyers. Matt Kavanaugh had a go-ahead basket with 39 seconds left before Galloway hit his shot.

The Flyers didn’t get a good look in the final seconds. Devin Oliver missed a 3-pointer that would have won the game.
