Thousands of fans had staked out tailgating spots around Michigan Stadium by the time the sun rose Saturday morning. They will enjoy a perfect day for football.

Temperatures for the 114th edition of The Game between Ohio State and Michigan should hover in the low 40s, but the sun is out and no rain is forecast.

The Buckeyes and Wolverines play at noon. Here are some pregame observations:

1. Former Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones is here, and he’s wearing J.T. Barrett’s number.

2. The Buckeyes showed off their alternate black-and-white jerseys in pregame warmups for the first time.

3. John O’Korn will start at quarterback for Michigan. Injured quarterbacks Wilton Speight and Brandon Peters remained sidelined.

4. Springfield Wildcats football coach Maurice Douglass was on the Michigan sideline as the Wolverines warmed up with two recruits from his team: his son Moses Douglass, a wide receiver and free safety, and lineman Isaiah Gibson. Both are juniors.
