Bengals will be without five injured players vs. Browns

The Cincinnati Bengals will be missing five players Sunday in Cleveland as wide receivers A.J. Green and James Wright, defensive end Wallace Gilberry, safety Derron Smith and tight end C.J. Uzomah have been ruled out with injuries.

Green will miss his third consecutive game after suffering a hamstring injury early in the Nov. 20 loss to Buffalo, and the absence of Wright, who suffered a knee injury in Sunday’s win against Philadelphia and did not practice all week, will further deplete the receiving corps.

The Bengals could sign either Jake Kumerow or Alonzo Russell off the practice squad for added depth, but a corresponding move would have to be made to clear room on the 53-man roster.

Long snapper Clark Harris is listed as questionable after missing the last two games with a groin injury. Only once this year has a Bengals player listed as questionable not played, so the likely move would be to cut long snapper Tyler Ott to make room for another receiver. Or, if the Bengals expect Wright to miss extended time due to the knee injury, they could place him on season-ending Injured Reserve.

Harris was a full participant in Friday’s practice for the first time since suffering the injury.

Safety George Iloka, who showed up with a groin injury on the Thursday practice report, also was a full participant Friday, as were left guard Clint Boling (shoulder) and wide receiver Brandon LaFell (knee).
