Bengals Mike Nugent misses third straight PAT in loss to Ravens

Mike Nugent for 3 took on new meaning Sunday as the Bengals kicker missed his third consecutive extra point in the 19-14 loss to the Ravens.

Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis elected to stick with Nugent after the 11-year veteran missed both extra points in last week’s 16-12 loss to Buffalo, but he may have to re-evaluate things after the latest miss.

Nugent has missed four of his last eight PATs. And while he was 2 of 2 on field goals of 23 and 36 yards Sunday, he’s only made five of his last eight.

And as if Nugent’s struggles weren’t glaring enough, Baltimore kicker Justin Tucker threw a million-watt beacon at them Sunday by making field goals of 57, 54 and 52 yards as part of a 4-for-4 performance.

Tucker, who has made 34 consecutive field goals and has never missed a PAT, became the ninth kicker since 1960 to make three field goals of at least 50 yards in a game.
