Report: Reds interested in free agent Beltran

A newspaper in Puerto Rico reported the Reds have expressed interest in free agent Carlos Beltran.

According to Primera Hora, the Reds, Tigers, Yankees, Orioles, Mariners, Red Sox, Rangers and Royals have looked into signing the 36-year-old outfielder, who played the last two seasons with the Cardinals.

Beltran told the newspaper his priority is to return to the World Series.

Beltran would be the just the latest former Cardinal to join the Reds if they were to sign him. The Reds announced a two-year deal with Skip Schumaker, 33, on Tuesday. He played his first eight seasons in St. Louis.
