Dragons add extra arm to pen

When it wasn't raining or snowing, the Dragons played some good baseball on their recent road trip, winning four of six games.

Today, May 2, they return to Fifth Third Field for their longest homestand of the season — 10 games. It will feature, among other things, Reds reliever David Weathers on a rehab assignment. Weathers may also pitch Saturday night.

Weathers went on the disabled list for only the second time in his 19-year major-league career on April 20 with a sore right elbow. He pitched a scoreless inning at Class AAA Louisville on Tuesday and is eligible to come off the DL on Monday.

Maybe Dragons reliever Joe Krebs can give Weathers some tips. Krebs either won or saved each of the Dragons' victories on their road trip, picking up two of each. He has given up no earned runs in his last 15 innings.

Fellow reliever Jeff Jeffords has done about the same, allowing one earned run in 152/3 innings.

On offense, second baseman Kevyn Feiner is hitting .441 in the last 10 games, and outfielder Keltavious Jones is hitting .349 over the last 16 games.
