Frazier, Waring help Dragons salvage a split

PEORIA, Ill. — Brandon Waring's two-out double in the top of the ninth inning drove in Todd Frazier from second base to break a 4-4 tie as the Dayton Dragons defeated the Peoria Chiefs, 5-4, to earn a split of their doubleheader on Wednesday night, April 30. The Chiefs won the first game 5-0.
The Dragons finished their six-game road trip with a 4-2 record, winning two of three in both Kane County and Peoria. They are 14-11 overall, tied for second place in the Eastern Division, one game behind West Michigan.

In Game 1, Peoria starting pitcher Billy Muldowney, making his first appearance of the season coming off an arm injury in 2007, retired all 12 batters he faced over four perfect innings before reaching his pitch limit, and relievers Blake Parker and Steve Vento combined with Muldowney on a two-hit shutout.
