Whitworth yet to hear from NFL on fine
Bengals lineman likely will have to pay for scuffle during Sunday's game vs. Jaguars.

CINCINNATI — Bengals left offensive guard Andrew Whitworth hasn't heard from NFL headquarters in New York about an impending fine for his involvement in a fight with Jacksonville defensive tackle John Henderson.
But the verdict is coming. It's due on Friday, Nov. 7.
"I think they're deliberating," Whitworth said during Wednesday's open locker room period for the media.
The third-year NFL veteran from LSU signed a four-year, $30 million contract extension through the 2013 season earlier this year, so he'll be able to afford any sanction the league levies against him.
But Cincinnati's newest folk hero made it clear he wouldn't change his decision to retaliate against Henderson, who pulled off Whitworth's helmet after a heated blocking exchange and attempted to gouge Whitworth's eyes.
"It's been kind of funny," Whitworth said. "There's been a lot of attention. Everywhere I go, somebody's got their take on it and how they think it went. It's been an interesting deal. But, nah, I wouldn't have changed anything I did. I'll say it again: I felt like I was in a situation where I had to defend myself."
Whitworth said he's received positive feedback from fans.
"The fans have been awesome," he said. "There's been a lot of support. The fans have really been behind me and said they love to see that fire and intensity, and it's been good."
