MECHANICSBURG — Greeneview girls track coach Tim Aronhalt will be the first to tell you just how tough winning a conference title can be.

Each year it gets harder.

But that didn't stop the Rams from taking the Ohio Heritage Conference track and field meet for the third straight season on Thursday, May 15, at Mechanicsburg High School.

The Rams had 136.5 points, outlasting West Liberty-Salem (123.5) by 13 points.

"It's a relief," Aronhalt said. "The pieces fell in place today for sure."

Rams senior Emily Folino won the 100-meter

hurdles in 15.78 seconds, and broke her own school record in the 300 hurdles in 47.03.

Folino also finished second in the 200 (27.35), barely losing to sophomore teammate Shaytell Furman (27.20), but she was "so excited" to win a third straight league title.

"We want to see how long we can keep it going," Folino said.

Furman also won the 100 in 12.93 and the long jump with a leap of 15 feet, 2½ inches.

Greeneview's Jen Talbott won the 800 in

2:22.83. The 1,600-meter relay team of Ciera Greene, Jamie Buckner, Folino and Talbott won in 4:20.13.

Aronhalt said he challenges his athletes to beat their seed time heading into a race.

"They've all stepped up," Aronhalt said.

Cedarville senior Katie Gerhardt won the shot put for third straight season with a toss of 41 feet, 8 inches. She also won the discus for the fourth straight year with a toss of 143-2.

Southeastern freshman Marie Egbert won both the 1,600 (5:36.42) and the 3,200

(12:09.32). She broke the meet record in the 3,200, a 12:38 set last year by Greeneview's Kirstin Hackworth, by almost 29 seconds.

"The better the competition, the better I run," Egbert said.
