TROTWOOD — By any measure, Larry Ham was a winner as Trotwood-Madison High School's boys basketball coach. But winning over the administration in the long run was a losing cause.
Ham said he was notified Friday, April 25, that he would not be offered a supplemental contract to coach the Rams next season.

"Our philosophies were different," said Ham, who had just two seasons at T-M. "That's the professional way of putting it. But you know there were differences."
Ham, 60, left South after 14 seasons to replace Ike Thornton as T-M's coach in 2006.
Last season Trotwood (20-5) won the Greater Western Ohio Conference North title and beat Cincinnati Moeller, the state's top-ranked team, in the district final. T-M lost to eventual D-I state champ Newark in the regional semis.
Ham's first season at Trotwood saw the Rams (22-2) fall to eventual state runner-up Cincinnati St. Xavier in the regional.
"I am totally at peace with it, who I am, what I stand for, what I have done and how I handled my business," said Ham. "I just don't believe this was the right way."
